User Agreement

By creating an account, downloading, or using Soul Map, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update these terms; continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Soul Map. By registering you represent that you are 18 or older. The Service is not intended for minors, and we do not knowingly process data from anyone under 18. If we learn a user is under 18, we will delete their account and data. If you believe a minor is using the Service, contact privacy@soul-map.xyz.

Treat every person as a real human with dignity and rights (Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Art. 1 & 12). You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or defame anyone.
• Post hate speech, discriminatory content, or incite violence.
• Post sexual, explicit, or otherwise prohibited content.
• Impersonate someone, misrepresent your age, or provide false identity.
• Use the Service for illegal purposes or in violation of any applicable law.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data, or bypass security.

Soul Map uses your location only to show bottles nearby and anchor messages to real places. We request your explicit consent before accessing location, and you can use the Service without it. Your live position is never shared with other users. Always meet new people in public, well-lit places, tell someone you trust where you are, and report unsafe behaviour. We are a platform, not a safety guarantee — you are responsible for your own safety.

You retain ownership of the content you post. You grant Soul Map a limited licence to host, display, and operate that content solely to provide the Service. We act as a hosting intermediary and, in line with frameworks such as the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) and the U.S. Section 230 (as applicable), we are not the publisher of user content and are not liable for it, except where we fail to act on valid notices. We may remove content that violates these Terms or the law.

We provide in-app tools to report bottles, messages, and conversations, and to block users. Our team reviews reports and may remove content, lower karma, suspend accounts, or take other action. Under the DSA, we provide a clear mechanism to flag illegal content and a point of contact for notices. Repeated or serious violations may result in account termination.

Lumen is an in-app currency earned through positive behaviour. Karma is a trust score that rises with good deeds and falls with poor ones. Premium tiers are optional paid features. Where a purchase is made through an app store (Google Play / App Store), the store's terms, billing, and refund policy apply. Purchases are final except where required by consumer law. We do not guarantee that virtual currency has any real-world value.

You can export or delete your data at any time (see Settings and our Privacy Policy). You may terminate this agreement by deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that seriously violate these Terms or endanger others, without limiting your statutory rights.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties. To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or €/equivalent 100 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g., for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

These Terms are governed by applicable law in your jurisdiction. Where mandatory consumer protections apply, they are not excluded. We aim to resolve disputes amicably and through our support team first. For users in the EU, you may also access the EU's online dispute resolution platform where applicable. This clause does not remove any rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.
