User Agreement

By creating an account, accessing, or using Soul Map (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree with any part of them, do not use the Service. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

• “Bottle” — a message, optionally with voice or media, anchored to an approximate real-world location.
• “Alias” — the temporary anonymous identity you use in conversations until both people choose to reveal more.
• “Content” — text, audio, photos, video and other material you place in bottles or send in chats.
• “Lumen”, “XP”, “Karma” — virtual items earned inside the Service. They have no cash value.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Soul Map. By registering you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older. The Service is not directed at minors and we do not knowingly process data of anyone under 18 (COPPA; GDPR-K). If we learn that a user is under 18, we will delete the account and associated data. Report a suspected minor account to privacy@soul-map.xyz.

Soul Map is currently in invite-only closed beta. Accounts require a valid invitation code and may be created through email or Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You interact with others through a system-generated alias — do not use an alias that impersonates a real person or brand. One person may hold one account; duplicate accounts used to evade moderation may be removed.

Treat every person as a real human with dignity and rights (Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Art. 1 & 12). You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, defame or blackmail anyone.
• Post hate speech, discriminatory content, or incite violence or self-harm.
• Post sexual, explicit, or otherwise prohibited content.
• Impersonate any person or brand, misrepresent your age, or provide false identity information.
• Use the Service for prostitution, trafficking, illegal drug sales, weapons, fraud, or any illegal purpose.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data, scrape, reverse-engineer, or bypass security or rate limits.
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without written permission.

Soul Map uses your device location only to show bottles nearby and anchor messages to places. We ask for explicit consent before accessing location, the Service works without it, and your live position is never shared with other users — bottle positions are obfuscated server-side before storage.

Meeting people from the internet carries real-world risk. Always meet in public, well-lit places, tell someone you trust where you are, arrange your own transport, and report unsafe behaviour in the app. Soul Map is a platform, not a safety guarantee — you are solely responsible for your offline interactions.

You retain ownership of your Content. You grant Soul Map a worldwide, revocable, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, display and transmit your Content solely as needed to operate the Service (for example, showing a bottle to users within its range until it expires or is collected). We act as a hosting intermediary: consistent with the EU Digital Services Act and, where applicable, U.S. Section 230, we are not the publisher of user Content and are not liable for it, except where we fail to act on valid notices. We may remove Content that violates these Terms or the law.

Every bottle and profile has in-app report and block controls. Reports are reviewed under our Community Guidelines; we use a combination of user reports and automated tools (including AI-assisted classification) to detect violations. If we restrict your Content or account, we will tell you what happened and why, and you may appeal to appeals@soul-map.xyz. We process notices in line with DSA notice-and-action principles.

Lumen, XP, Karma, badges and premium features are licensed, not sold. They are virtual items with no monetary value: they cannot be sold, exchanged for cash or currency, transferred between accounts, or redeemed outside the Service. We may balance, modify, or discontinue virtual items at any time with no liability. If you purchase premium features, the purchase is processed by the applicable app store or payment provider and is non-refundable except where required by law.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that create legal or security risk for us or others, or as required by law. Where feasible, we will tell you the reason and offer an appeal. On termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately; sections that by their nature should survive (content licence for already-reported material, limitations of liability, governing law) survive.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that Content you find will be accurate or safe. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Soul Map and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for all claims is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) EUR 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Soul Map and its operators from claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising from your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights or applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Belgrade, Serbia, except that (a) consumers may also bring claims in their country of residence where mandatory law allows, and (b) nothing limits your statutory consumer rights, including the EU Online Dispute Resolution framework.
